Blue note

This was my expression all last night, after a withering bout of dissatisfaction with my own art. It’s a terrible idea to compare your work to someone else’s, ever, because it won’t get you anywhere. Alls you can do is use your frustration, I guess.

My husband refers to Jenny as “that girl you draw when you’re upset”. He’s not totally wrong. I guess Jenny makes me feel stronger, and I need her most when I’m angry. And I’m angry a lot.

This became something better, though. Girls in tuxedo shirts turn me on, and I feel like Jenny’s grown-out ‘do is more right for her than the mohawk. The pose is kind of masculine, which I like. Smoking’s for fools, of course, but. Sometimes, to make a point.
