Galaxy man by lily-fox Galaxy man by lily-fox
Kit's boyfriend Andrew's birthday was September 19, and he liked the star man I made for Kit, so I made him a little matching cosmonaut.

He's made with felt, polyfil and embroidery floss, and I weighted his feet with beans and little pieces of cardboard so he'd stand up on his own. I think I'll borrow back Kit's star man and re-sew his feet this way.

Like the other one, he was inspired by the work of Mr. and Mrs. Muju of Mujuworld and Lorena Alvarez's felt dolls. And I was listening to a lot of Daft Punk while I sewed.

I don't have a pattern for him, no.

Ridiculously clever. This is like astrophysics. How can you take *felt* and make an awesome little space dude out of it? Felt is flat and boring! I think you might be from an advanced species. Possibly coming to conquer our planet by infecting us with cute things until we are paralyzed with warm and fuzzy feelings.

Seriously, though, I'm quite impressed with the concept and execution.

Thank you so much! I love to hear that stuff. I know, some of the things people make with felt and thread just knocks me right on my tailbone.

The two of them look great together too. I love toys like this with an open story that sort of writes itself as you play

Adorable. Absolutely adorable. I love the star man one, too- are you going to make more of the same kind? You should, they are soo cute!

i'm extremely curious on the process of these little guys. do you sew him together, and then to the embroidery, or do you do the embroidery first?

I did the embroidery first, because the other side looks like a mess of loose ends.

These are always so cute. All you need is to start a small line of children's toys and you're set for life

Heh, that would be a dream, but I can't imagine how fat I'd get if I sat around hand-sewing the amount of toys it would take to start an actual shop for them!

So sweet! It's very 80's, if you don't mind. Kinda Captain EO, meets Last Starfighter, meets Tron, meets Speak and Spell. Love it!

Of course I don't mind! I'm not familiar with any of those things except for the Speak & Spell, which is VERY close to my heart, so that is awesome. :D

I love both of these plushies a lot. :) The embroidery work on them is amazing.

The only thing I would suggest would be to use plastic cross stitch canvas instead of cardboard. That way if they get accidentally wet or need to be hand washed the feet don't get all mushy. :)

It's this stuff, in case you don't know what I'm talking about:
