My pops came for his annual visit and flew back home this evening, and in a fit of Post-Dad Malaise, I sat listening to sad bastard music and drew a sad bastard.

Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne is one of those tragic villains with a loud kernel of goodness in them. A man who can fall desperately in love with a good person can’t be entirely bad, but it is almost never meant to be. Only in fairytales, sweetness.

And then he dies. -_- I was so mad. But he redeemed himself through that. Holy, I love Richard Armitage. I tried to draw him once a few years ago. Didn't work out too well. He has too many sharp angles and contours and I'm still working on shading.

But that's part of the charm of drawing him -- the play of sharp and soft. All his parts are sharp in theory but soft in practice.

Yes. I just...I need to work on shading. A lot. I tend to do gradual dark to light for everything, even stuff that only needs minimal shading. So his sharp/softness is hard for me. Chris to you, though!!! I love your work.
