Hatter25 prompt: "rescue".
This is the follow up to "water", and the second of a three-part story in pictures -- Reggie saves Alice after falling through an icy pond. I TOLD you she'd be okay. I hate unhappy endings, so I try to never draw them. And hey, it's Disneyland; there's always a heroic stag around when you need one. I was heavily inspired by Jeff Smith (Bone), and Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes). I feel like I'm really terrible at the comic format, especially dramatic action sequences, so this was a huge success for me. My only regret is that Reggie's freckles were lost in the strict black-and-white. Lord, I do love those freckles. (This was meant to be in black-and-white, and I'd like it to stay that way, please.) We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. He obviously jumped in after her, with the wet hair (and left his had behind, no less!) and I love how he's calling out for help. The puffs of air and breeze make it soo chilly.
I don't know if it was intentional, but I like that we see her hand change positions a little, to touch his arm. So romantic!
