I don't know what my compulsion is with trying to rescue birds. I know there's no hope. They never recover. But I just can't leave them out there.
This dove was attacked by my cat and was beyond any hope. I had thought about euthanizing it, but there was no conceivable way I could bring myself to do it. So I tried to make it comfortable. Poor little guy. Why do we do it to ourselves? This is like, a bald allegory for my relationship with almost all the men I've loved. |
