Kit and I used to watch the Jetsons Movie all the time when we were kids, and I just watched it again recently. It’s so ridiculous, SO hilariously 1990 (Mr. Jetson raps, one of our heroes plays a sweet key-tar, and a song sequence features animation befitting a Peter Gabriel video), and yet there is so much to love about it. Judy is voiced by singer Tiffany, who does a number of truly amazing songs. There’s an unsubtle message of social and environmental preservation and awareness, of course, because that was starting to be really in vogue in the 90’s. And this was actually the last role for both Mel Blanc and George O’Hanlon, who voiced Mr. Jetson. Kind of bittersweet.

Anyway, Kit reminded me how we both adamantly denied any feelings for Apollo Blue, the boy Judy meets on the mining colony. Now that we’re adults and have lost our sense of shame, we can admit it. This is for you, Kitter.
