I feel like if Snape had had a dog (or cat, or any friendly animal), he would've been a happier person, which can be said for almost anyone. And if he had had a dog, I feel like a Saluki would have suited him. I'm no dog expert, so the anatomy is way off, but this is just a fun little thing.
I took my time coloring this, which I don't usually do, and I feel like it paid off. The whole time I was doing this, I was listening to podcasts of The Splendid Table (a radio show about food, hosted by Lynne Rosetto Kasper, whose voice is like all your sweetest, most comforting memories). If you've never heard it... my heart breaks for you. The podcasts are free to download on iTunes, so go treat yourself. Listening to her talk about food gives me the major pleasure-chills, like slipping into a hot bath, and of course it makes me hungry.
My point is that the mood of the drawing totally changed as I listened to The Splendid Table. I imagine Snape sitting back, listening to Lynne talk about homemade blackberry sorbet or something, petting his dog, forgetting all his troubles. As you do.
I think I may give Snape art a rest for a little while. Not a long while. But I miss dressing people in colors.
