Yesterday (September 3) was Kit's birthday! Every year we try to make each other something really cool, and this year I made her a little star person.

Took me a few days. I didn't make a pattern or anything, but he wasn't too hard to put together. He's made with felt, polyfil and embroidery floss. I have all these great rainbow colors and I've always wanted to use them all together. If I'd thought about it, I would have weighted his feet with some beans or something.

He was hugely inspired by the incredibly talented Mr. and Mrs. Muju of Mujuworld and Lorena Alvarez's exquisite little felt dolls. I don't know how she gets her stitches so perfect, but I don't do a lot of embroidery, so maybe with some practice!

I love you, Kitteroo! At her birthday party, she asked me if, when I made this, it felt like a male or female. Our mom said, "It is a genderless being of universal love." I thought that was perfect. C:
