True purpose by lily-fox True purpose by lily-fox
Work was super slow today, so I drew this at work and colored it at home. My coworkers find papers with halos all over the place.

OH CASTIEL. Precious baby.

Every now and then, I pop onto dA with one purpose and interest: to see what you've been up to. Sometimes I leave a comment, sometimes I just look but your art never fails to make me smile.
I'm very sorry that I can't be on here more to talk to you while you're chained to this Supernatural fanart comet. I love when were on the same kicks. I'm watching season 4 right now and grinning like an idiot every time Cas makes a cameo on the screen.
You and me, kid, were like THIS! *crosses fingers*
You've always had a soft spot for contrasting colors and portraits.

Heh, it is more fun when we dig the same stuff. But I was telling my husband, I feel like I'm gonna be sticking with Supernatural for a long time. It's rare that I get into a thing that's actually on the air, and whose story is currently like, underway, you know? Where I have more to look forward to and not just wear myself out. Chained to this comet, you ain't kiddin'.

I really like your use of negative space, as well as the somewhat Art Nouveau feel it has.

I LOVE this one. One day you gotta tell me how you get those clean, smooth thin lines. They make me drool. And perhaps more importantly - how do you keep them looking so smooth and defined after scanning? What do you do to them?

You know, I've had a few people ask me this, and it's not hard at all. I'll make a little tutorial when I can! But PFFT, like YOU should be talking about clean lines. You have the most solid, smooth lines I've ever seen!

Poop on that! I have no idea how to scan my traditional lines without making them all lumpy and fuzzy. The only reason they're smooth in that case is because I've spent painstaking hours fixing them up in Photoshop. q: But there must be a better way! I would love to see a tutorial from you, lovooove.
